Future-proofing
QLD homes

After Queensland suffered “the greatest loss of life in a domestic house fire in Australian history”, the previous laws that regulated fire safety changed to crackdown on poor domestic standards.

This bill became official in 2017, however it has a staged approach to give homeowners, property managers, tenants and landlords time and assistance to get up to date.

Homeowners have up until 2027 to become compliant with the new laws regarding smoke alarms. It’s a load off the mind to avoid paying extra on penalties.

However, it’s not just about compliance.  This bill comes from recommendations of the Coroner and other related community stakeholders to come up with a better solution to protect Queensland households.

At the end of the day, this is all about keeping your family safe.
